What’s the problem, you ask? Well, frankly, we’re stuck in a quagmire because we don’t have an active translator or TLC.

So even though we’ve got a bunch of episodes roughly translated, we can’t do anything with them until they’ve been checked by someone who actually understands Nihongo (unless you want craptastic subs).

To that end, we’ve decided to start recruiting again instead of simply waiting around. More on that after the break.

Here’s what we (ideally) need to fill our roster:

1-2x Translation Checker(s) - (TLC)

• This is by far the most important role at the moment, since we have a substantial backlog of roughly-translated episodes.
• You need to be able to prove you have a solid understanding of both English and Japanese.
• You must have enough time to argue with our editor over lines until both of you are satisfied.
• You must know how to use IRC and be online during the day (EST).

1x Translator - (TL)

• This role will need to be filled after we work through our backlog so that we can actually move forward.
• Note that a TL will ideally fill the TLC role as well (for consistency), but it’s not a necessity.
• You need to be able to prove you have a solid understanding of both English and Japanese.
• You must have enough time to argue with our editor over lines until both of you are satisfied.
• You must know how to use IRC. You can TL whenever you want, but you need to be available for our editor to talk to you if needed.
• Previous fansubbing experience would be preferred, but frankly, if you know Nihongo well and you show up, you’ll do.

Once we fill the position(s), we should be able to get rolling along pretty quickly.

So a TLer decided to have mercy upon us and TLed some stuff. I still don’t know what happened to Van.
Lord-Aizen is our new TLer, or temp TLer until something happens. We don’t have any specific arrangements, but he’s willing to help us get back on our feet.

I’m told up to 104 is TLed. 100 is only half timed. It would seem 97-99 are on editing.

Fairy Tail

-Van is still busy doing whatever it is he is doing, so we’re still stalled for ep 96+
-15 re-re-re-re-re-INFINITY-redux is currently uploading to the bots, so that should be available soon.
-Still waiting on Backstab28 and DarkAesthir to QC all the accursed old eps seeing as that’s the only progress we can make right now.
-Up to ep 99 is timed and ep 100 is currently being timed. Been playing catch up for awhile and got so far behind thanks to last semester that I probably won’t be up to date with timing nonsense/blank lines for awhile as I wait for them to be correct/filled in.

Guilty Crown

I’m not involved with this, but here’s what I know:
-May hasn’t talked with the TLer for this series since Christmas.  TL is busy with exam till february
-Sanguine (the editor) has been afk for awhile. San is moving away to a new place.
-BackStab28 wants to take on the role as editor.
- Palmje is also moving because of work.

Not much info I’m afraid.

We’ll get it done when we get it done, whenever that is.

We are proud to present our new project: Guilty Crown!

It’s been 2 years already since I founded this group and finally our staff is expanding with 2 new members with zero experience!

A new, separate staff is working on Guilty Crown so it shouldn’t affect Fairy Tail’s overall progress… although if you look at our calendar board(anidb release graph), Fairy Tail releases are really slow because of school, winter break, vacation, etc.

Our new translator, `Hyrrokkin, just returned to the fansubbing community to help us get this project rolling. Nevertheless, I guarantee that our releases will be slow because of 3 reasons:

• We aim for Quality subs while having fun. (It’s totally possible to have fun subbing stuff!)
• We are mostly students working on this show and school comes first.
• We started late on this project… And we lack a Raw provider willing to help us out. (We are still using shared .ts Raw!) Please let us know if you know a raw provider who might be able to help.

2. For this show, we’ll be doing 720p 10-bit encodes only. (We’ll see if we do the Blu-ray in January~)

This is the last of the eps we have translated at the moment. 96-97 we’re waiting on Van to TL since he’s been busy, 98 I haven’t had time to time yet due to school and 99+ are having encoding tweaks as far as I know so the 10bit transition will go as smooth as possible.

We’ll be focusing on the batches until Van is less busy. Could be soon, could take awhile, but I guess it doesn’t matter at this point.

Sorry for the website being down the past few days, but it’s (obviously) back up! We are currently looking for a FTP hosting provider who would be kind enough to let us store our working files temporarily (probably for a few months) while I look up search for a new FTP host (which I’ll have to pay out of my own pocket)… The current donations are still enough to pay for the web hosting, but web host =/= file host. We’ll settle on some new hoster eventually, hopefully no later than next summer.
