This group was founded on October 18th 2009, with non experienced staff members. Main purpose of this group is to learn fansubbing and make quality subs… that, and to level up from the rank of leecher…
About the fansubbing work:
- Everything is softsub. (for now)
- Nothing Fairy Tail related is final until it’s in a batch torrent

Core Staff
- Hiyonomay
Position: Typesetter, manager
Founder and self proclaimed “leader” of the group, she typically displays tsundere like mannerisms towards any subs we produce and is a known perfectionist who will insist on a v2 for any minor mistake(s) found. She also has “quality whore” tendencies and won’t settle for anything short of as close to perfect as it can get. She’s in college and has a job, so she’s normally busy and stressed out. Often times will try to force a side project (like an OVA or something) without thinking it through (i.e. who will be doing what). As a side note: make it think it was her idea if you want her to go along with whatever hair-brained idea you might suggest. - refinder
Position: timer, editor, and anything else that needs doing really
Has given himself the title of “lunatic”, possibly for good reason with his intense mood swings and bizarre antics. More often than not the most temperamental member of the group who, ironically, makes sure everything runs smoothly… or at least as smooth as things can be. Often times he’ll go out of his way to make sure any current, active, projects gets done in a timely manner, even if it means he has to time blank lines with no translation to go on. Known to be in college with hom-chan as his live-in girlfriend and an avid maker of motivational posters. Currently stressed out of his mind, bothering him is not recommended unles you want to dragged down to his level of madness. - seeker1458
Position: encoder
Let’s call him the “family man”. He’s been with the group as long as may or ref, but didn’t start being the active encoder until episode 9 of Fairy Tail. He’s actively improved at his role since he started and has also gotten advice from other, more experienced, encoders in the fansubbing community to try and better the video quality; this has been a key contributing factor as to why we are so adamant about re-releasing the first 20 episodes, he’s just gotten that much better. He has a job doing computer stuff so he can normally help anyone in the group with troubleshooting. He too is a fan of motivational posters. - VanDelfin
Position: translator
This group’s saving grace, the man who came to us in our time of need when out previous translator disappeared mysteriously. Van joined around the time we released episode 9 of Fairy Tail and since then our process has improved considerably. Since his English and refinder’s English differ, it often leads to the lines being much more interesting and often times more creative. He’s a University student, so school comes before everything else, but he still finds the time to get whatever projects we’re actively working on done in relatively speedy fashion. He’s been busy with RL things recently, but those aren’t causing us any delay yet. - sanguine
Position: Web Admin, Distro, quality checker when he feels like it
San is, for lack of softer words, very vicious when it comes to QCing, he’ll point out dozens of lines he feels have better alternatives and then lists them off; that’s what makes him so damn good at it, he doesn’t hold back. Typically, he and refinder have the lengthiest discussions during QC time since refinder has to point out the reasons why some lines are what they are. He’s usually around in IRC, just need to PM him to get his attention. He mainly handles distribution now since his job hours have become too demanding to QC. - palmje
Position: back up quality checker, back up typesetter
He’s a member of Taka subs first and foremost, he’s helping us out cause he felt like it. I’d say he’s a member of the core staff by now, though. - BackStab28
Position: quality checker
Forget what was said about san, stabby is brutal with QC. At first he was changing 95% of all the lines in the script, and that was way too much for Ref to handle. Took hours to go through it all and twice as long to tell him the reasons why which changes weren’t carried over. Now that he’s cut down A LOT on the changes it only take 4 hours of discussing them before consensus is reach. He fist showed up months ago, helped out with some of the batch episodes, and then vanished without a word until around ep 85. Thanks to him we were finally able to get some releases flowing again. Possesses a serial comma fetish. - DarkAesthir
Position: quality checker
Little is known about him. He steps in to resolve the more lengthy spats between refinder and stabby. Often the third voter, the tie breaker, sometimes even the voice of reason. He might be keeping his distance to limit the amount of craziness that rubs off on him, or he might be intimidated by all the odd things constantly being argued over in the staff channel. He mostly finds things that get overlooked repeatedly.
Secondary Staff
- hom-chan
Position: Anything refinder can do, she can also do
You won’t see her listed in the credits page very often in the release posts, but she’s “involved” with most releases, just behind the scenes… She has little interest in most of our Hiyono projects and would rather see more activity from MOT, the hentai subbing group that came before Hiyono. An active pervert with, at times, demented tastes, she normally keeps refinder at a workable level of insanity. Whenever refinder is too busy with life and hom-chan isn’t, she can do his job for him and no one in the group ever notices until she starts laying on the desu. Also a college student with a tendency to make NSFW motivational posters en mass. - Ayoken007
Position: Quality Checker
He started out as a lurker in our IRC channel and then leveled up to a QCer when our previous QCer quit without warning. He typically focuses on stylistic changes aside from locating punctuation mistakes, misspellings and the usual grammar checks. He sometimes misses out on the QC since he’s not on all the time for whatever reasons, be them viruses or having a life of some kind… or some game addiction. He’s been busy with moving along with bad times with the economy, so he’s not on a lot these days. - AnimeKami
Position: editor, timer, quality checker(?)
He’s not around much. He does things in places, in other groups. Tends to adopt a new personality every few months, or just changes slowly like the rest of us and it just seems that way with how infrequently he’s around. May doesn’t think his timing is as good as refinder’s, but refinder will never complain if AK does the timing with one of may’s out-of-nowhere side projects. He has a decided disinterest in anything Fairy Tail related.
Former Staff
- Necoyama
Former Position: translator
He disappeared without warning and left us in disarray until Van joined. - Bzzt_lol
Former Position: Encoder
He left because of bad internet connections, but seeing how far off the timing is with his encodes compared seeker’s new encodes from the same raws, this might have been for the better. Still a nice guy though. - Mouryou
Former Position: Quality Checker
He left because he lost interest, still pops in IRC every so often to see how we’re all doing.
