Usual Mundane Ramblings

Inconceivable! There’s actually Saturday morning cartoons on! Ones that don’t suck!
Thundercats is finally back, but a lot of the episodes have been falling flat to me, seems like every episode someone passes their idiocy to a different member of the cast.

BIG SURPRISE!

Green Lantern: The animated series is actually pretty good despite the CGI (which still looks stupid and not being put to use in the ways you’d expect it to be).
Hal Jordan isn’t knocking himself out in a yellow bathtub

or knocking himself out by hitting his head on a tree branch (you never had a weakness to wood!)

or knocking himself out by ramming a yellow sign at full speed

or knocking himself out by tripping over his own two feet (you can fly for crying out loud!)

Not being constantly unconscious (or having the IQ of guacamole)

is a major improvement for his character since even the last animated show he starred in portrayed him the same way (and I’m not counting movies).

I guess Supes finally got through to him.

He’s still the least interesting character in the show, to me at least.
If the show lasts long enough, we’ll probably get to see all the colors of the rainbow.

Other than that, Legend of Korra finally aired, and the show is actually living up to the hype.
And exploding all over everywhere…

I stayed up till 4am that night, my sleep schedule has been messed up since. Totally worth it.

Classes have started back up again, school, internship-ping, more homework, and at least one interesting class: Linux. Interesting because I’ve never had the motivation to learn about it despite it being free.

It occurred to me recently, like some grate epiphany, that words do actually carry wait. They just need to be said by the right person, with the right voice.

No one reads this, and I’m not complaining.

Making edits to this series is the only real way I find to make it entertaining. That and the various fan fic alternate endings and fan art of better endings.
The best way to read Serenity is with /co/ when they story time it. Most of the people who read this have no clue what that means, the ones who do just called my a faggot for mentioning it or feel embarrassed inside by it.
Well anyway, not going to let that ruin my fun (since this is the only fun I have with this blog seeing how fansubs are slow as hell right now due to Van being MIA).

Let’s talk about some anime!

I watched Rebuild of Evangelion 1.11 (director’s cut, baby!) not too long ago. Liked it well enough, was mostly a rehash of the first few episodes of the TV series (which I haven’t seen in forever and have very vague memories of aside from naked girls in the opening and a vocal sex scene at some point).
Waiting till I see this.

Probably in movie 2 though (which I also have the director’s cut of), but I probably won’t have any time to watch it for another couple weeks…

December Endgame

So, the U.S. House of Representatives met to discuss SOPA sometime around the 14th-16th of December. They had a live stream of the hearing/reading and it was a trip. Politicians yelling “YIELD” at one another, sassy black politicians being “offensive” (they spent an hour trying to strike the very word “offensive” from the record), old conservative politicians being old and pathetically ill informed, and I think there was at least one gay Jewish guy as well.
It was basically a meeting of every stereotype we’re told not to believe of politicians. Farts were loud, porn was discussed, and a pizza party was had when the time started running into the mid PM hours.

Bingo cards were made by the people that were watching the live stream after so many hours.

I think my favorite analogy one of the old farts made was likening the SOPA/PIPA bill to changing street signs so people wouldn’t be able to find crack houses.

In fact, here’s a link to some threads I saved from /co/’s lengthy commentary on the whole affair.

The only way anyone would be able to get this reference is to read through those threads…

Focused stuff

Subbing is slow since Van is still not around and stabby isn’t doing stuff either. Not feeling all that motivated to time with no trans like I normally do.

Not going to sub HHH Triple H 03 since the subject matter is unappealing to me and I have no one who wants to work on it anyway.
we’ll sub ep 4 though since it picks up ep 1′s story.

Now, on to less focused stuff

Seriously, I’ve got nothing.

It’ll just be the same old same old spree of random images being added in for filler.

Wouldn’t it be great if there was a video game where you played as a panda and went around wrecking the place? No one would be allowed to stop you since you’d be a friggen panda.

You may think this is an exaggeration, but imagine getting a FIVE YEAR PRISON SENTENCE just for posting a link to a youtube video of e-mailing a link to a friend of relative that contains “copyrighted material”. THAT’S BASICALLY WHAT THIS LAW WILL LET CORPORATIONS AND THE GOVERNMENT DO TO EVERYONE. It’s not a matter of “if it will be abused” it’s a matter of “when they’ll start;” I, for one, don’t want to see laws befitting a dictatorship become enforced in a democratic (as fucked up and flawed as it may be) country. It’s not even the politicians, but Hollywood pushing this; it was intentionally sped through the processes just so the public would not have time to develop an opinion.

May’s challenge

So since the new HxH anime aired, May has, without fail, constantly compared it to the old version. She had a lot to say based on just one episode.
So I challenged her to not say anything about the differences or compare the series until 6 episodes of the HxH 2011 series had aired and then make a blog post detailing all her little likes and dislikes. I’m going to hold her to her word on this. I don’t have any related pics, so here another vid.

If this vid is missing I am not gonna both replacing it again since it seems most of just the OPENING of it keeps getting pulled from youtube.

All I know about HxH is what I’ve seen from helping out with the pilot OVA and some of the more recent manga chapters. Doesn’t give me a lot to go on, but I’m hoping this new HxH anime won’t be a massive let down like the Toriko anime is being… the censorship and filler characters make the Toriko anime feel like a different series entirely… ugh…

But anyway, May seems enthused enough at the idea of putting together a list of comparisons. In all honesty, I’m hoping this HxH anime will get something like FMA: Brotherhood treatment (after ep 14ish treatment where they didn’t rush anymore since they were adapting new material).

Moar anime stuff

One Piece anime is now past the time skip, certainly feels like one since it’s been a year and a half since we last saw the crew together in the anime.

I’m fucking drooling… this and the HxH new anime makes me feel that thing called “hope” again for finding entertainment in anime since I’ve kinda been turned off to a lot of the new stuff for awhile now.

Also considering watching Mirai Nikki, finished the manga some time ago.

And the Hayate no Gotoku movie comes out on DVD December 16th.

Western toons again

Lot’s of Halloween specials and Halloween appropriate content right now.
Adventure Time has had two eps with the content that we’re both continuations of eps from season 2… Lot’s of interesting things going on there.

The long awaited episode with “Dapper Finn” from that leaked story board from months ago.

So, until Van gets some free time, we’re stalled at ep 95 and will be focusing on batch episodes. May is doing some other show and I’m not involved for once (yay for me!) to practice her skills or learn new ones or something.

I’m still confused over HHH Triple H being marked as still on going at some sites.

I’ve had so little free time I didn’t even get to start putting up Halloween decorations until the Thursday before.

One more thing!

I don’t know what this is, but I know we can’t pin this one on Japan.

You can pretty much tell I’ve long since run out of interesting things to put in these monthly posts just ot change what I see every time I come to the page of this site I have in my favorites list.

Because “September Sadness” and “September Sorrow” have been done before, as have everything, or so I am finding.
This month has been hard on me… School, various bad things happening to relatives, stressful reunions, and other RL crap.

Anyway, might as well talk about site happenings.

General Happenings

-The MOT thread is still there so everything is still dandy.
-I’m still having a nostalgia fest with various cartoons I used to watch as a kid.

-Subs are finally moving a little again.
-Still digging Adventure Time, Regular Show, and Thundercats.
-Still can’t find any decent quality THE DAWN raw of Hellsing.

Because Fall term starts at the end of August and it’s hardwired into me to dread the start of terms.

Oh, and by the way, Hellsing Ultimate OVA 8 was finally released after over a year an a half of delay. Looks like it was well worth the wait since it comes with an extra OVA animating the first chapter of “The Dawn” prequel.
Anyway, on to sillier topics instead of how utterly screwed the world is right now despite the sun still rising and people still living.

I love how different drawfriends build off of each others work (well, it looks that way to me, but I know a lot of it is influenced by the requester). Mostly posting this to vent after how “Too Young” ended.
And because I’m rather happy with how this turned out.

Comic-Con stuff

So Legend of Korra is something I’m really looking forward to.

Avatar: The last Airbender was one of the last shows from Nick that I found I really enjoyed… the sponge has long gone stale and the kid with the pink hat is made of retcon and repeating plots. I digress. Based on the trailer it looks to be superb with lots of good animation and choreography in the fights + fedoras.

That green lantern tv series thing is all in CGI and I don’t like how it looks. I saw the trailer, they made the red lanterns act like the Sinestro Corps. instead of the rage fueled semi-feral corps. I liked them as… and only one guy vomits blood everywhere now.

You know I’ve been adding lots of Adventure Time stuff to these posts, so I’ll keep it brief that I enjoyed the preview of Fionna and Cake. I don’t see any reason to make a fuss over any of the voices and I never hyped the episode up so much in my mind that it would never live up to it. Instead of being about two bros going on whacky adventures, it’ll be about two sis’s going on wacky adventures.

In my quest to be entertained I found something that was like a cross between Rock’s Modern Life, Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo and the Dodo from “Porky in Wackyland”. Yes, it’s another web comic, I seem to be on a kick of reading new ones without even looking for them, I just find them by accident while looking for something else entirely. Anyway, since I want this picture to be on top of the page for this months entry (so everyone has to look at it 100 times a day), here it is: Frog Raccoon Strawberry.

I’m not even going to try to describe what it’s about, just go read it for yourself if you really want to know.

This is a long time coming, but since I don’t have anything all that great to type about right now, I’ll shove every “rules of the internet” mot we’ve made onto this page. I Don’t Give A Fuck if they don’t match other lists out there, it’s what we’ve made. Also, going with the rules-1-&-2-only-apply-to-raids angle, obviously.

June is HOT

Hmm… double meaning?

Yeah, sure, why not? It’s been hot all month, there’s smoke in the air from fires so going outside is literally painful, you can only fuck for so long and for so many days before passing out and losing all sense of time. That, and playing all 32 tracks in Mario Kart Wii get’s stale after the 30th time. Mirror mode is a bitch to unlock and I don’t feel like dedicating the effort to it. Anyway, on with the blog post.

Comics

So I started reading the web comic Oglaf earlier this month.

Most strips involve men being sodomized and forced to give other things with dicks blow jobs while naked women point and laugh at them. Sometimes the naked women will also get in on the fucking too, but dicks are much more prevalent.
-I’ve also taken an interest in some French comics that I can kind English translations of anywhere… as of right now anyway.

-DC is forcing yet another reboot of it’s comics: Superman is no longer an alien nor can he leap buildings in a singe bound (but can still fly), Louis Lane doesn’t exist anymore, and Sups has to wear pants now. The only DC stuff I was even interested in was the DCAU.
-Marvel was bought by Disney months ago, so whatever… but Deadpool can say fuck Marvel and still do whatever.

-I’ve recently looked into some of the Johnny Wander web comics as well. Only the urban fantasy stuff with Death having trouble getting close to a girl he likes but turned her hand boney when he kissed it (dated her in the 1920s, avoided her for over 80 years before going steady, she hadn’t aged since) + some blind girl with a pet cockatrice.
- Pawn is one that’s been going on for awhile now and just recently came out of what I assume was a hiatus. Scholar girls goes into an ancient labyrinth to free a demon princess from having to guard some sort of treasure… all because she wants her for herself. Forget over/under tones, the two leading ladies have it bad for each other.

Anime ‘n stuff

San needs to get time off to QC some Fairy Tail. Pal needs to get a working version of aegisub.

Hot girls.

I know I said in the last blog post that maybe this next one would have those rule MOTs in it, but since #s 44, 57, 60, 66, 67, 68 and 69 have no MOTs since they’re more of the meme specific/nonsense kind, I’ve decided not to. Since typing that more have been made, but stiff not all.

They are making an anime styled episode of Futurama. Large thumbnails, if you want fully size copy the image line and remove the l at the end.

Oh, and the gender bent episode airs on the 23rd.

You can thank /co/ for this, just as you can thank them from the gender bent episode of Adventure Time that’s going to air during season 3 which starts July 11th.

While on this topic (since I don’t wanna put it above in stuff I’ve already typed), I’ve found I really like the comics Natasha Allegri (a story board artist and the one who started this AT rule 63 episode on its way) makes. Shame most of the older ones have been lost to the either of the interwebs and she doesn’t ever want to see them again since she says their all shit.

Huzzah! I found a fukken treasure trove of them in an imgur album! All of them ones I didn’t have! Why were none of the ones I already have hosted in it? Who cares!

Akinator genie
I know I’m behind on fads and this guy was popular a few years ago, but I hadn’t played his 20 questions before until this month. I can only stump him with secondary characters from obscure stuff so far. I don’t know why I bothered to add them into his database… maybe cause it’s less fun to stump him with the same character twice if you already know he doesn’t know? Or maybe because it’s more fun for him to to guess right after you know you added that character to his database.

I was watching something about Fort Knox on TV, changed the channel and saw puppies. Went to the internet and then saw this not long after.

I notice stuff like this happening so often that I would be a conspiracy if I didn’t think it were a conspiracy. Think about an episode of a TV show; turn the TV on and that episode is on. If only it worked with lotto numbers (like I’d play the lottery) and stuff that mattered.

Ponies

The madness continues. What scares me is I can’t tell if this is a good madness or a bad madness… oh well, madness is madness, I take it where I can find it. How did I get coerced into reading fanfiction?

More other

As I type this I realize how found I’ve become of online artists, not just fan art, but original characters along with web comics. I spent a good chunk of the post typing about this and now I think I’m just rambling on.

American comics trying to imitate Japanese manga disturb me to the extent that I had to rewrite the dialogue.

It burns less this way.
Maybe some Red Lantern’s vomiting acid blood will help with the burning.

They’re supposed to be the primary antagonists in the new Green Lantern cartoon (even though I think the Sinestro Corps. should play that role). I hope it doesn’t suck (but if it’s another CGI show I’m not gonna waste my time on it) and actually uses all the other Lantern Corps. I wanna see Star Sapphire’s gem get turned into the power battery for the Violet Corps. and Agent Orange with his legion of constructs…

Also, this had to be done.

…and the other Corps., too. I really wish they’d add on to the DCAU since that was (and I’ll say this as many times as I damn well please) the only DC verse I cared about, but I know they won’t. Young Justice is pretty good, but Cartoon Network is screwing it over in another of it’s insane bids to cancel all their good shows in favor of unfunny shit. I saw their newest cartoons, I was less than impressed and rather annoyed by the unrelenting lack of creativity. Jaded I am, but oh well, I like to contradict myself.

In conclusion, I’d read the hell out of a comic like this…
